Norway: DNV KEMA Appoints Scandinavia Regional Manager

Energy and sustainability advisory company DNV KEMA, the energy arm of DNV, has appointed the former President of Sweco Norway to the post of Scandinavia regional manager.

Vibecke Hverven joins DNV KEMA on 1 December with more than seven years of experience as President of Sweco Norge, a leading multidisciplinary consultancy company in the field of sustainable engineering and design. In this role, her main focus was achieving profitable growth through competence building and people development. During her tenure, the company increased the number of employees from 400 to 1100 and turnover increased from NOK 10 million to NOK 110 million.

Prior to her Sweco role, Vibecke Hvernen held senior management positions in Statkraft, the Norwegian renewable energy company. She also has extensive board experience, having served on various councils and boards in the energy and environment sectors in Norway.

“Scandinavia is a key growth area for DNV KEMA because we can leverage the strength of the DNV brand in DNV’s ‘home’ region together with KEMA’s global expertise within power, transmission and distribution. Vibecke Hverven’s leadership experience in the energy sector will help establish us as a leader in this vital region,” says DNV KEMA CEO David Walker.

Vibecke will report to Dirk Fenske, COO Europe. “I’m very pleased to welcome someone of Vibecke’s caliber and experience to our management team. Her background in the energy sector and as a senior manager in a knowledge organisation will be a great asset to our division and DNV KEMA as a whole.”

Vibecke Hverven said: “I am delighted to join such a respected organisation and I’m looking forward to working with DNV KEMA’s very experienced and knowledgeable team to deliver on its development goals in this important market. Energy and sustainable development of societies is definitely my passion, and I feel fortunate that this will be my focus in such a strong and successful company.”
