More than a year before its completion, BARD Offshore 1 offshore wind farm has reached capacity of 100 megawatts which can power around 100,000 households with renewable electricity.
The most powerful German offshore wind farm, BARD Offshore 1 is located about 100 kilometres northwest of Borkum.
After its completion, which is scheduled for late 2013 early 2014, the wind farm will have a total capacity of 400 megawatts, and it will be able to power all households in the Munich area.
