Former member of eTech Group, Steve Smith, has joined KM Electronics Ltd.

Steve’s more recent work history includes supervising the electrical fit out of the first dozen or so Gardline AliCat wind farm support vessels. He has also been involved in the maintenance and upgrading of many of the eTech based South Boats.

Prior to windfarm vessels, Steve has spent a large portion of his career in the marine industry working on everything from military hovercrafts to super yachts to bulk carriers.

Steve will be working within their subsidiary, KME Systems Ltd, which will now be dedicated to WFSV’s and workboats, both new build and the support of existing vessels.

Their area of operation is currently Wells in Norfolk, to Dover in Kent, with Europe wide support of vessels they have carried out installations on.

In the light of the recent failure of South Boats and eTech they are being “sympathetic” towards the operators of vessels that have suddenly been left without either warranty or technical support.
