Germany: EEW SPC Books 80 Foundations for Butendiek OWF

EEW Special Pipe Constructions GmbH, located in Rostock (Germany) announced that they received an order to manufacture 80 foundations for the Offshore wind project Butendiek.

Contract signing with their customer Ballast Nedam was in November 2012 in the Netherlands. Since the beginning of February the financial close of the 288 MW project has also been achieved.

Butendiek OWF is located 32 km west of Sylt and close to the German-Danish border. The water depth in this area is 20 m on average. In spring 2014 Wpd Offshore, developer and operator of the wind park, is planning to begin with the installation. Full operation is expected until mid of 2015.

Production start of the Monopiles and Transition Pieces for EEW SPC is July 2013. With approx. 73.000 t, Butendiek is one of the biggest order for EEW SPC as yet.
