Germany Seaway Heavy Lifting to Install Sylwin Alpha Transmission Station

Seaway Heavy Lifting has been awarded a contract by Siemens AG for the transportation and installation of the Sylwin Alpha jacket and transmission station.

The 5,800 tonnes jacket will be installed by Heavy Lift Vessel “Oleg Strashnov”. The 14,000 tonnes transmission station will be installed as a float-over. Seaway Heavy Lifting shall perform the float-over operation with the assistance of its subcontractor Dockwise. The work is scheduled to be performed in 2013/2014.

The transmission station SylWin Alpha will be installed in the German exclusive economic zone of the North Sea in the so called “SylWin Alpha” clusters.

CEO Jan Willem van der Graaf says: “We are very pleased that Siemens has awarded this important contract to Seaway Heavy Lifting. It affirms Seaway Heavy Lifting’s position as a Tier 1 offshore installation contractor for the renewables market.”
