Navigation in Anholt Offshore Wind Farm Still Prohibited (Denmark)

DONG Energy is constructing Anholt Offshore Wind Farm, and during the entire sailing season in 2013, intensive works will be conducted on establishing the largest offshore wind farm in Denmark, which includes an area of 88km² between Grenaa and Anholt.

While construction is ongoing, the construction site is closed off for safety reasons, and unauthorised navigation in the area is not allowed. Therefore, a temporary safety zone with a 500m radius has been established around the site. All mariners have been notified of the restriction area through ‘Efterretninger for Søfarende’ (Notice to mariners), EfS 40/1100 2011.

The construction site is marked with yellow light buoys. The construction site will be monitored during the entire construction period, and violations of the ban may lead to prosecution.

When construction is complete by the end of 2013, the safety zone will be lifted.
