The Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey has ordered the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) to reconsider its decision to reject Fishermen’s Energy Atlantic City Windfarm (FACW).

Court Suggests NJ BPU to Approve Atlantic City Offshore Wind Farm

The BPU decided to object the project in March, which led the developer to file an appeal to BPU’s decision a month later. According to U.S. media, the court’s decision was made in the light of the recent USD 47 million grant to Fishermen’s Energy from the U.S. Department of Energy, which was officially signed at the beginning of this month.

In fact, following the announcement that the project won federal funding, the developer was hoping that the BPU will change its mind and give the green light to the offshore wind project.
