EIAs Available for Two Danish Nearshore Wind Farms

R&D

Danish transmission system operator Energinet.dk has announced that Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for Smålandsfarvandet and Sejerø Bugt nearshore wind farms are now available, and will be in public consultation until 23 September, 2015.

A public meeting regarding the EIAs will be held on 1 September for Smålandsfarvandet and for Sejerø Bugt the following day.

The Danish Energy Agency (DEA) this year launched the call for tenders for nearshore wind farms totaling 350 MW in six sites. The tender will be closed in the spring of 2016, with wind farms expected to be completed in 2020.

For all sites, the concessionaire(s) will be able to decide where to locate the wind farm within the limits of the designated area and within the limits set by the Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs).

The six nearshore wind farm sites are named: Vesterhav Nord, Vesterhav Syd, Sæby, Sejerø Bugt, Smålandsfarvandet, and Bornholm.
