The European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) has organized a session titled The Place of Wind Energy in COP21 at its annual conference held in Paris.

The session is co-ordinated by the French Wind Energy Association (FEE), and dedicated to discuss the place of wind energy in the current climate change negotiations concluding at COP 21 (Paris, 30 November to 11 December).

The session provides an opportunity to discuss the different ways in which the UN negotiations could have an impact on the industry and in the economic development structure.

Representatives from various countries, companies and backgrounds are taking part in a panel debate presenting their strategies and ambitions linked to shifting to renewable energies and are discussing their sustainable development policies and adaptation strategies.

Short- and long-term perspectives for wind development are also addressed in this session, as well as the role of the civil society in accelerating wind energy development as a widely acceptable solution in the context of climate change.
