Vessels

GloMar Shipmanagement B.V. has bought the Fugro Commander, a DP shallow draft geotechnical vessel, and will convert it into a diving support vessel (DSV).

GloMar Shipmanagement B.V. CCO Mark van der Star said: “We are in discussion with Fugro to mutually offer the vessel back to the market as Geotechnical vessel. Furthermore we will actively promote her in the renewable and Oil & Gas industry.

The vessel will be renamed Glomar Vantage and will feature an on-board Seaeye Tiger ROV and two diving LARS systems. It can accommodate 28 persons and is designed for diving, ROV, and survey works.

The Glomar Vantage, which has a 4-point mooring system, is equipped with Dynamic Positioning (DP) which was refurbished in 2012. With dimensions of 57 x 12m and a summer draught of 3.5m, the vessel is capable for shallow water operations.
