NHC, an ambulance and air rescue services specialist, has bought an Airbus H155 helicopter specifically for providing the new service.

Crew changes at the wind farm take place once a week, scheduled for every Friday. The contract will initially run for a period of one year.

“We are delighted at convincing Global Tech I of our services and gaining the company as new customer,” said Frank Zabell, Managing Director of NHC.

“The passenger transportation completes our range of services for wind farms. We are growing, even though the market environment is a challenging one.”

The Global Tech I wind farm is located around 140 kilometres from Emden to the northwest in the German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). Its substation has a helicopter landing deck to which NHC will be flying. The flight itself takes around 35 minutes, according to NHC.

Dr. Felix Prechtel, Head of Operations at Global Tech I, said: “We are convinced that in NHC we have gained a reliable partner, and look forward to smooth flights from Emden.”
