Last year, Prysmian signed a charter contract with Global Marine Systems to use the cable-laying vessel for the installation of inter array cables at the 350MW Wikinger offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea.

Meanwhile, the foundation installation at the offshore wind farm site is already underway, and Cable Enterprise recently started installing a section of the 90-kilometre Ostwind 1 offshore cable system which will connect the Wikinger offshore wind farm, as well as the 385MW Arkona, to an onshore substation in Lubmin.

C.S. Sovereign is scheduled to start laying inter array cables soon, with the work expected to be completed in early 2017.

On Monday, 27th June, Global Marine held a customer visit aboard the vessel to give customers and partners an opportunity to tour C.S. Sovereign and meet the captain and crew, the company said.
