James Fisher Marine Services, the main offshore marine services contractor for the Galloper offshore wind farm, chartered the Bibby WaveMaster for a three-month period with options to extend to support the offshore commissioning phase of the works.

The service operation vessel (SOV), the first of Damen’s purpose-built SOVs with Walk-to-Work (W2W) capability, has been built by Damen’s Galati shipyard in Romania on behalf of its owners Bibby Marine Services, who took delivery of the vessel in August.

Bibby WaveMaster 1 is a custom-designed 90-metre SOV, built on a DP-2 (Dynamic Positioning) platform, with a motion compensated W2W access system and a Comfort Class 2 standard accommodation comprising 60 individual en-suite berths.
