The contract award is subject to financial close, expected to take place in the second quarter of 2018. For NKT, the final order will have an estimated contract value of approximately EUR 115 million.

The project scope includes two 50-kilometre long export cables and 97 66kV inter-array cables.

VBMS will carry out the installation with its own two cable laying vessels, with the project execution scheduled to start in 2020.

The 860MW Triton Knoll has been awarded a Contract for Difference (CfD) earlier this month at a strike price of GBP 74.75/MWh.

The GBP 2 billion project will comprise 90 MHI Vestas V164-9.5 MW turbines, the most powerful offshore wind turbine currently on the market. Sif-Smulders joint venture has been selected to manufacture the monopiles and transition pieces, as well as two foundations for offshore substations.

Onshore construction is scheduled to start next year and offshore works are expected to commence in 2020. The project will be built in three phases, with the commissioning starting in 2021. The project is anticipated to be fully operational in 2022.

Triton Knoll is being developed by a joint venture between innogy and Statkraft.
