ORE Catapult Seeks Power Analyser System for ‘eGrid’

Contracts & Tenders

ORE Catapult is looking to procure a Power Analyser System to be used in the 15MW wind turbine and 3MW marine drivetrain test facilities in Blyth, which will link into the Grid Emulation System (eGrid) to allow the measurement of current and voltage usage from the eGrid system.

Tenders may be submitted by 1 November, with the awarded contract going into effect on 24 November.

In March, ORE Catapult awarded GE Energy Power Conversion UK with a GBP 4 million contract to design, supply, deliver, install, test and commission the Grid Emulation System, including cabling and containment at ORE Catapult’s test facility in Blyth.

The Grid Emulation System will allow ORE Catapult to conduct electrical power quality test and the possibility of accelerated validation of wind and marine renewable energy devices in a controlled environment.
