A team of inspection technicians undertook inspections of the switchgear within each transition piece to ensure optimum performance and longevity.

Steve Evans, Operations Manager at SMC said: “We are very pleased to be working with Seaway Heavy Lifting for this project. Our personnel will work to the highest standards of safety and quality throughout. We were able to mobilise our team swiftly and efficiently and we look forward to working with SHL.”

The 588MW offshore wind farm will consist of 84 wind turbines and two Siemens Offshore Transformer Modules (OTMs), all placed on top of jacket foundations.

Seaway Heavy Lifting has already installed 28 jackets at the site, using its vessel Oleg Strashnov.

Beatrice, located in the Outer Moray Firth off Scotland, will feature Siemens 7MW wind turbines. The wind farm anticipated to be commissioned by the end of 2019.
