According to RTS, thirteen employees are currently working in the Dutch seaport of Eemshaven, the Netherlands, including two quality inspectors, an offshore planner and ten punchlist technicians.

Currently under construction, the Merkur offshore wind farm will comprise 66 GE HaliadeTM 150-6MW and is located some 45km north of the island of Borkum in the German North Sea.

The jack-up rig Seafox 5 installed the first wind turbine at the offshore site earlier in March.

Merkur Offshore GmbH, the developer of the wind farm, signed a long-term contract with EMS Maritime Offshore (EMO) in October 2017 for the construction of a service base in Eemshaven.

The 600m² warehouse, affiliated offices covering 500m² spread across two floors and the terminal logistics are expected to be completed in the spring this year, when the developer will start carrying out part of its maintenance and service works for the wind farm.

The Merkur offshore wind farm is expected to be completed by the end of 2018 and fully commissioned in 2019.
