The agreement, signed during the FWP (Floating Wind Power) Atlantic Forum in Brest, is said to be the result of regular exchanges in the last several years and a common ambition: to make the Brittany Region a stronghold of the offshore wind industry at the national level and beyond.

According to wpd, the strategic positioning of Brittany coupled with investments made in the Port of Brest and the ongoing floating and offshore wind project developments make this region well suited to become the industry’s centre of excellence and a know-how export hub.

wpd has so far been involved in the development of 20 offshore wind projects and the construction of three wind farms. The company will bring its expertise of technical and environmental derisking, but also its vision of the industrial structuring of offshore wind at the European level.
