The contracted company will supply 350km of onshore high-voltage cable, including 400kV cable, for the 1.4GW project by 2021.

According to LS Cable & Systems, establishing a partnership with Ørsted enables it to participate in offshore wind projects developed worldwide.

The South Korea-based company is also the supplier of high-voltage cable for the 1.2GW Hornsea Project One offshore wind farm.

Hornsea Project Two will feature 165 Siemens Gamesa 8MW turbines located 89km off the Yorkshire Coast in the UK. The units will be mounted on monopile foundations produced by EEW Special Pipe Constructions (SPC).

The project won a Contract for Difference in September 2017 and will be built at the lowest ever price for offshore wind seen in the UK.

Once fully operational in 2022, it will become the world’s largest offshore wind farm.
