Rhenus Adds Borssele Beta to To-Do List

Grid Connection

HSM Offshore B.V. has appointed Rhenus Offshore Logistics B.V. for the commissioning logistics of the Borssele Beta offshore high voltage substation.

The 700MW Borssele Beta will connect the Borssele 3 & 4 offshore wind farm to the Dutch grid.

HSM Offshore

Offshore construction on the 731.5MW project started in October 2019, with the commissioning scheduled for 2021.

HSM Offshore rolled out the topside for the Borssele Beta substation at the end of last year at its yard in Schiedam, the Netherlands.

The substation’s jacket foundation, also built by HSM Offshore, was installed at the site off Zeeland last May.

Located 22km off the coast, Borssele 3 & 4 will feature 77 MHI Vestas V164 9.5MW turbines installed on monopile foundations.

The project is being developed by the Blauwwind consortium comprising Partners Group (45%), Shell (20%), DGE (15%), Eneco Group (10%) and Van Oord (10%).
