Business & Finance

Dutch company Safeway and the UK-based Tyne Gangway have signed a cooperation agreement, which will see Tyne Gangway supporting Safeway in the Port of Tyne and the UK.

Safeway

The UK company, specialising in design and manufacturing of marine access systems, will provide the aluminium inner and outer boom and location for fast servicing for Safeway and Techano products used at the Dogger Bank Wind Farm’s base and on Service Operations Vessels (SOVs) serving local offshore wind farms.

Safeway has been contracted to work on Dogger Bank Wind Farm with a Safeway Osprey type of gangway, mounted on OHT’s wind farm installation vessel MV Alfa Lift. The vessel, currently under construction in China, will transport and install monopile foundations. Alfa Lift is scheduled to be delivered in late 2021 and to be deployed on Dogger Bank A and B in 2022.

“Tyne Gangway is perfectly located to provide local services to the Port of Tyne and the wider UK now offering the services of the Van Aalst Group of companies such as Safeway and Techano. Together we can make major steps to provide a higher level of service and product range”, said James Russell, Managing Director of Tyne Gangway.
