The contract follows K2’s Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Taean Wind Power and Dohwa Engineering from 2019 and the delivery of a preliminary feasibility study and site screening in the initial stages of the development of the project.

In partnership with Dohwa, K2 will now deliver on the next stage of the project, which includes the design of the turbine foundations, inter-array, export cables, and offshore substation.

K2M and Dohwa will also carry out the energy yield assessment and manage the invitation to tender and permitting processes, with the goal of streamlining the project and ensuring it remains on schedule.

Construction of Taean offshore wind farm, located in the Yellow Sea, is scheduled to begin in July 2023, with a completion date of 2026.
