The monopile foundations are being loaded at and transported from the Buss Terminal Eemshaven in the Netherlands and installed at the site by DEME Offshore’s Innovation and Cadeler’s Wind Orca.

The monopiles for the project were fabricated by EEW and the transition pieces by Bladt Industries (135) and EEW Special Pipe Constructions (30).

Developed by Ørsted, the 1,386 MW Hornsea Two will comprise 165 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW turbines, an offshore substation, and a reactive compensation station (RCS).

The wind farm’s first turbine was erected at the end of May.

Once commissioned in 2022, Hornsea Two will become the largest operating wind farm in the world.
