Varberg Energi to Purchase Renewable Electricity from OX2’s Swedish Offshore Wind Farm

OX2 and Varberg Energi have agreed in principle for Varberg Energi to procure renewable electricity from the Galene offshore wind farm located near Varberg, Sweden, as well as from OX2’s solar project in the vicinity.

The long-term goal of the agreement is for the companies to enter into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the Galene offshore wind farm, as well as a PPA for one or more of OX2’s solar projects in Halland.

In May last year, OX2 received the government’s permission for the Galene project, which consists of up to 21 wind turbines with a planned production amounting to approximately 1.7 TWh.
