Cadeler Secures Vessel Capacity for 2029 Wind Turbine Installation Campaign

Business & Finance

Denmark-headquartered Cadeler has signed a preferred supplier agreement to transport and install wind turbine generators (WTGs).

An undisclosed client has signed an agreement with Cadeler to secure vessel capacity for a wind turbine installation campaign scheduled to start in 2029.

According to the company, the effectiveness of the agreement is contingent upon the undisclosed client’s success in a future auction.

Cadeler, a company headquartered in Copenhagen, is a specialist in the transportation and installation of offshore wind turbines and their foundations.

According to its website, the firm has a fleet of four wind turbine installation vessels (WTIVs) in operation with six newbuilds scheduled for delivery through 2026.

In terms of other recent news coming from Cadeler, the company signed a firm contract last month with Inch Cape Offshore Limited, a joint venture between Red Rock Power Limited and ESB, for the installation of 72 Vestas 15 MW wind turbines at the 1.1 GW offshore wind farm in Scotland.

For the execution of this work, Cadeler will utilise one of its two newbuild M-class installation vessels, the first of which was launched in June at Hanwha Ocean’s shipyard in South Korea.
