British-owned Pritchard-Gordon Group has expanded into the European offshore wind and marine energy sectors with the launch of PG Renewables, a company focused on offshore and nearshore unexploded ordnance (UXO) clearance.
According to the Pritchard-Gordon Group, PG Renewables aims to support offshore wind farm developers by reducing risk and optimising productivity through experienced explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) specialists and techniques.
The company said it would provide high- and low-order UXO clearance, including the only remote ordnance lifting system proven at scale.
“Together, the PG Renewables team has a demonstrative track record of success in the UXO space, having successfully completed more than 10 wind farm and 5 subsea infrastructure projects to date without incident. We are proud to be taking this next step and supporting this sector as a wholly owned, British company with significant experience operating in the marine environment,” said the company director, Henry Keane .
PG Renewables also partnered with EORCA UK, an EOD solutions provider, to supply equipment and expertise. According to Pritchard-Gordon, EORCA UK has carried out nearly 2,000 UXO mitigations across the UK, Europe, and the US.

“Having personally completed the mitigation of almost 2000 pieces of UXO using innovative high order, low order, and unique remote ordnance lifting techniques in the UK, Europe and USA, the formation of PG Renewables will allow us to support clients in both development projects and unplanned interventions using proven capability.”
PG Renewables will provide UXO re-acquisition and identification services, offshore and nearshore clearance using divers or remotely operated vehicles (ROV), and explosive disposal through high- and low-order techniques, the company noted.
The company said it will also offer project support, including documentation, risk assessments, and the supply of multi-role vessels. Its service portfolio includes the deployment of its remotely operated lifting system for safe UXO removal and a multi-shot ROV placement system designed to increase efficiency during clearance operations.
