French and Chinese Form Floating Wind Pact

The French DOLFINES and China’s CIMC Raffles have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost floating offshore wind in Europe and Asia.

The two parties have agreed to cooperate on the commercial development of their activities in Europe and Asia to boost the floating wind sector.

According to DOLFINES, the companies’ profiles are very complementary.

In China, CIMC Raffles has four R&D centers and three shipyards that are suited to execute offshore renewable and oil & gas EPC projects, the French company said.

“We are very proud to work together with CIMC RAFFLES who has all the EPC competences and construction facilities that are needed for an industrialized mass production of floating wind turbines,” said Jean-Claude Bourdon, DOLFINES CEO.

“Moreover, the modular construction concept of TrussFloat™ allows also to comply with local content requirements by using existing construction and transportation infrastructure, even far off the coasts.”
