Community Benefits Consultation on GBP 19 Million Funding Begins (UK)

Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm Limited, through independent market research company Cogent, is seeking Flintshire residents’ views on how £19 million of community funding should be allocated across North Wales.

The funds, £768,000 per year, index linked to inflation, will become available once the 160 turbine wind farm is fully operational in 2014.

The goal of this research is:

  • to acquire information about community’s key priorities;
  • how the fund should be run;
  • who it should help;
  • which geographical areas it should cover;
  • what type of projects would qualify for funding;
  • who should make decisions about funding applications;

The study runs from 15th December until 13th February 2012. Residents can take part in the following ways:

  • Online, using the electronic bilingual questionnaire which will be live from 15th December 2011 to 13th February 2012

The survey is being carried out independently by Cogent Research on behalf of Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm Ltd.
