UK: Visser & Smit Completes Cable Laying at Sheringham Shoal

Cable laying at the Sheringham Shoal Offshore wind farm in the Greater Wash has been completed, reports renews Europe.

Visser & Smit has installed a total of 56km of infield cables by utilizing the 86m vessel Team Oman, which has been deployed at the site for 18 months. The cable will now be trenched into the seabed with the 87m Toisa Warrior to ensure it is protected from fishing gear, vessel anchors and other potential hazards. Completion of burial is scheduled for this summer.

The wind farm, which is being constructed by Scira partners Statkraft and Statoil, has 36 of its 88 turbines installed and is set to be completed in late summer 2012.
