The contracting authorities are seeking supply vessels that will be used for the transport of containers, including general cargo and dangerous goods, as well as refueling of the substation from Emden to the projects and back.

The minimum criteria that at least one vessel should fulfill is a 400m2 deck area and a 150m3 tank capacity for MGO, as well as the ability to accommodate 12 x 10 offshore containers. The vessel also needs to comprise DP1 and should be able to perform in wave heights of 1.8m, swell of 1.2m, and wind speeds of 14m/s at 10m altitude.

A single trip to one of the two wind farms or a combined trip to both wind farms will be carried out every two to four weeks and will in average include the transport of 12 x 10 offshore containers.

The deadline for submitting applications is 2 October at 12:00 local time.

The one-year contract is expected to begin on 1 April next year, with the possibility of extending the duration unilaterally three times by 12 months each, so that the maximum contract period is four years.

Located 140km from Emden in the German Exclusive Economic Zone, the 400MW Global Tech I offshore wind farm consists of 80 5MW AREVA M5000-116 turbines that have been fully operational since 2015.

The 400MW BARD Offshore 1, Germany’s first commercial offshore wind farm in the North Sea, also comprises 80 5MW turbines. The project has recently marked five years of service.
