Ordtek said it would be providing UXO consultancy services and client representation ahead of offshore power cable and platform installation operations in the German Bight.

The duration of the contract is three years, with options for two renewals, each time by twelve months.

TenneT issued the tender for UXO consultancy services in November 2019, looking for QA/QC supervision services during land and vessel-based data acquisition in the 12 nmz Zone and Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

The UK company will be acting as TenneT’s representative in offshore UXO clearance campaigns for cable and platform installation projects, as well as cable repairs and remedial cable burial.

Additionally, the tender covers the provision of independent data analysis and interpretation, both at the site office or on survey vessels.

The contract for German Bight covers a number of different developments, including DolWin5, the first offshore grid connection system connecting the wind turbines directly to the offshore converter platform, eliminating the need for substations.
