Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co. (GLDD) has appointed Eleni Beyko as Senior Vice President for offshore wind to lead the company’s entry into the market.

Beyko will be responsible for developing GLDD’s offshore wind operations, including strategy and business development, tendering and project execution.

“Eleni has a record of demonstrated success across global platforms, and she’ll be joining a team that sees offshore wind’s potential growth as a true economic stimulus for America,” said Lasse Petterson , GLDD CEO and President.

“This is the optimal time for us to leverage our expertise in this exciting and transformative market.”

According to the company, Beyko most recently served as Director of Energy Transition for Americas at TechnipFMC, where she managed the Makani wind-borne energy spar offshore platform installation in partnership with Shell and Google X.

As reported at the end of 2020, Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation is developing the first U.S.-flagged Jones Act compliant vessel for subsea rock installation.

Pending federal permitting and regulatory approvals, as well as a final investment decision, the vessel will be operational as early as Q1 2024, to coincide with major offshore wind project construction timelines.
